Mumbai: First death anniversary of a renowned marathi singer, Padmashree awardee late Mrs. Sulochna Chavan has taken back her loved ones down memory lane and they pray and pay their soulful tribute when our senior reporter Shashi Dip spoke to her daughter-in-law Prafulla Chavan and her grand daughter Ms Aarti Chavan. Remembering her beloved grand maa Aarti says she was extremely loving and kind in all her ways, she was selfless and true, in her heart and mind, beautiful memories, she left behind not only for us but for the whole country. One year has passed since that sad day, when our precious one was called away, god took her home it was his will, but she resides in our hearts forever. Her legacy has been continued by her son Shri Vijay Chavan who is master a master drumer and folk percussionist.

Sulochana Chavan a well known famous honourable personality of Maharashtra. There might be not a single person in Maharashtra who does not know her due to her vast contribution to music industry, receiving most of honourable awards Lata Mangeshkar, Maharashtra Shasshan, Maharashtra Bhushan , and finally Padmashree in year 2022. But apart from all this one thing was noteworthy that she was a lovely human being and very beautiful person to all, whoever met her personally had a feeling of meeting one of the family members, whom ever she used to meet she used to meet with same warmth, same love and care and this nature and approach of hers made her a very prominent personality and she received a title of “Mai“ means mother in marathi. Everyone started calling her Mai. No body called her by her name, her one habit whoever came home she used to serve them food no matter what, and so all the high end personalities ate Omar our place and so apart from her singing all were huge fan of her cooking, she was an excellent cook, Aarti says, when we meet people who knew her first they talk about her singing then the nostalgia about her food and the way she used to be so caring is remembered. May her soul be joyous in the heaven.
