“She Inspires” Felicitation Was A Unique Tribute To Women Fraternity: Shashi Dip
Rotary Club Of Calcutta Endeavor Celebrated International Women’s Day 2025
Kolkata. “She Inspirers” a unique International Women’s Day 2025 event was held at Lake Police Station, Jodhpur Park, Kolkata on Friday, March 7, to honour exceptional women who have inspired people through their selfless service.
This was a project of Naba Disha, a joint initiative of Kolkata Police and VE Research Society, organised by Rotary Club of Calcutta Endeavor.
The event started with a welcome address by Rotarian Nitindra Mohan Mukherjee, President, Rotary Club of Calcutta Endeavor. Later, in the event, Mumbai’s renowned writer and National Organization General Secretary of Press Club of Working Journalists, Shashi Dip was honoured with the “She Inspires” award. In her absence, former Rotary President Ravina Ghosh received the award. P23 News Chairman and PCWJ West Bengal Head Saswati Das was also honoured with the “She Inspirers” award.
Further in the program, President Arindam expressed his views on the ideals of women in the country and state and former President and Program Coordinator Ravina Ghosh and Sujata Gupta expressed their views on women empowerment and Navneet Maitra and Prasun Chatterjee introduced special guest Mrs.Shashi Dip and her works and his wife Sharmistha Chatterjee recited a poem, Director Devvrat Mitra mesmerized everyone by singing a song. Rotary Club of Calcutta Endeavor expressed special gratitude to Saswati Das who has been supportive to the club since many years. In the program, teachers of Nava Disha/Vikramshila Education Research Society Mrs. Shyamali Bose, Mrs. Piyali Biswas and Kanchan Paul and Principal of Garia Motilal Sarkar Memorial School, Subhra Dutta were also felicitated. The school organized an essay and poster/painting competition on the topic of women role models for school children on the theme “She Inspirers”. Devbrata, Navneet and Nitindra Mohan performed a group song. At the end, food packets were distributed. Everyone praised this collective initiative. Shashi Dip expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the organising team and especially Saswati and Ravina Ghosh for the special honour given to her and called this honour a perfect example of women from East- West India coming together for a bigger purpose.
